Two bedrooms finished in warm terracotta and natural rattan, each with the kind of calm that comes from good materials and genuine care in every detail. The private pool sits at the centre of the outdoor space, surrounded by white pebbles and the sounds of the island moving at its own unhurried pace. The open dining pavilion, thatched roof, wooden beams, arched kitchen doorway, was designed for the mornings that stretch past breakfast and the evenings that arrive without urgency. An outdoor sunken bathtub opens onto tropical garden, and two lounge areas give the whole property a generous quality that most two-bedroom villas never quite manage. Sixty metres from the beach, the turquoise waters of Gili Air and the coral reef that surrounds the island are within easy reach on foot. Sea turtles, reef sharks, and some of the clearest water in Indonesia begin where the sand ends. Kiki's Villa is the smaller, more intimate counterpart to its 4-bedroom sister villa Keluarga next door.
